Dr. Gizis awarded grant from the Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory

August 15, 2015 - Dr. John Gizis has been awarded a grant entitled "The X-Ray Corona of a Flaring L Dwarf". The grant will study the first observation to determine both the X-ray luminosity and white light flare of a L-type dwarf star.

Dr. Xiao awarded grant from New Jersey Institute of Technology

August 15, 2015 - Dr. John Xiao has been awarded a grant entitled "Advanced Materials & Technology Assessment of Additive Manufacturing - Printed Materials and Electronics Assessment for Munitions."

Dr. Safronova awarded grant from the National Science Foundation

August 4, 2015 - Dr. Mariana Safronova has been awarded a grant entitled, "Development of a Relativistic Atomic Code for Accurate Treatment of Complex Correlations". The goal of the project is to continue development of a broadly applicable atomic code for predicting properties of d- and f-shell atoms to good precision.

May 28, 2015 - Dr. John Xiao has received a grant from the National Science Foundation entitled, "Spin-Orbit Interaction Driven Phenomena in Magnetic Heterostructures."

Dr. Nikolic receives grant from the National Science Founcation

May 26, 2015 - Dr. Branislav Nikolic has received a grant from the National Science Foundation. The project is entitled, "Computational Design and Modeling of Topological Insulator-Based Heterostructures for Spin-Orbitronics and Skyrmionics."
