Inaugural Bartol Research Institute Professorship in Physics awarded to Prof. Shafi

May 18, 2012 - The inaugural Bartol Research Institute Professorship in Physics has been awarded to Qaisar Shafi "in recognition of his achievements as a scholar and educator". Dr. Shafi joined the University of Delaware in 1983 and his research interests include the origin and nature of the Higgs Boson (often referred to as the “God Particle”), the current center of attention at the Large Hadron Collider at CERN in Geneva, the biggest ‘atom smasher’ in the world.
