Evidence for a common physical origin of the Landau and BEC theories of superfluidity

November 20, 2014 - In a recent Physical Review Letter article, which is highlighted by PRL as an “Editors Suggestion” to read, Prof. Mulders, Prof. Glyde and collaborators combine neutron scattering and torsional oscillator measurements to show that two originally quite separate theories of superfluidity in liquid 4He are based on mutually consistent liquid properties (phonons and BEC) that have a common physical origin.
